After owning Tumeegun for a summer I only had about 10 days out on the water, despite going down to Brighton virtually every weekend from July onwards. I decided that having bought a boat, I ought to ensure I got some use out of it, and hatched a plan to take a 10 month career break from work.  The initial plan was to bring the boat to the Med through the French canals to Sete and then coast hop East to Gibraltar before a big finale of a direct sail to Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.
